Mayor Sam Dunnett welcomed the few in the audience that braved the weather to come out tonight.

5.1              Mr. Bruce Campbell – Municipality of Magnetawan Health Unit Board representative introduction and verbal update

Mr. Campbell gave a breakdown of his first two months as a Board member on the Health Unit and the activities of the board to date. Mr. Campbell noted that the Health Unit budget will increase slightly by 3% for 2011 and that the budget percentage will vary by each Municipalities assessment. Mr. Campbell said that it is his goal to come to Magnetawan’s Council meeting once a year to present an update from the Board.

9.1               Letter from Mr. Jack King regarding street memorials



Mayor Sam Dunnett explained that Mr. King was requesting memorial signage to hounor fallen Canadian soldiers from Magnetawan. The Mayor suggested that the road names wouldn’t change, but rather the memorial signage be added to the road sign down on the pole and in close proximity to where the soldiers had lived. The Mayor said he would contact Gail Robertson for a list of those from Magnetawan that had lost their lives serving Canada and that he would make sure that Ahmic Harbour area was also incorporated into this type of signage Memorial.

Be it Resolved that the Council of the Municipality of Magnetawan recognizes payment of cheques numbered 6966-7012 and approves the accounts as presented and circulated in the amount of: Roads (payroll and vouchers) $20,510.88 and Levies $12,179.00 and General Government (Payroll and Vouchers) $506,572.26; for a total of $539,262.14
