The Mayor thanked those in attendance and explained that on December 1, 2010 the Municipal Clerk swore members of Council in to Office for the sake of getting down to business and that a lot needed to be accomplished by Council within a short order and that tonight was more for speeches and photo opportunities ceremony, rather than been sworn in.

The Mayor introduced Mr. Walter Winger to provide a few words in with respect to the 4 year term Council is about to embark on.

Walter Winger spoke to the audience and to members of Council and wished them all of the best. Walter asked each member of Council starting with Mayor Dunnett to come up and read aloud their oath of office. Walter Winger led the audience and Council in prayer.

The Mayor thanked Walter for being present and partaking in the customary inaugural meeting. Mayor Dunnett asked if members of Council wished to say a few words. Each member of Council participated and spoke to the audience and fellow members of Council.

Mayor Dunnett stated that the audience participation regarding questions or comments would be fielded at the end of the meeting.

3.1    Bottle Collection – Chapman Landfill

RESOLUTION No. 2010-453

Be it Resolved that the Council of the Municipality of Magnetawan permits the Magnetawan Lions Club to place a trailer at the Chapman Landfill site to collect bottles and cans in order to support the Home and School program through the Magnetawan Central School;

And Further Directs the Roads Manager and CAO / Clerk to work with the Lions Club to get the bottle collection trailer up and going as soon as possible.  


The Mayor opened up the floor to the audience for any questions or comments. Mr. Toth had a question regarding the web site and access to public meeting minutes. There was a question regarding when the Fire Department would be looked into by Council.
