SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

July 8, 2016

 

This Special Meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Magnetawan was held at the Magnetawan Community Centre on Wednesday, July 8, 2016 at 11:00 A.M.

 

Council members present: Mayor Sam Dunnett; Councillors Tim Brunton, Jack Crossman, Charlie Gray, and John Hetherington.

 

Staff in attendance: Clerk-Administrator, Andrew Farnsworth; Public Works Superintendent, Bruce Hill.

 

Notice of this meeting was posted on the municipal web site and at the Magnetawan Community Centre.

 

1. CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order at 11:05 A.M.

2. ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA

RESOLUTION  2016-210

Moved by Councillor Hetherington; Seconded by Councillor Gray:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Municipality of Magnetawan adopts the agenda for this Special Council meeting of Wednesday, July 8, 2016. (Carried)

  1. 3. CLOSED SESSION

RESOLUTION 2016-211

Moved by Councillor Brunton; Seconded by Councillor Gray:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Municipality of Magnetawan moves to a closed session at 11:10 A.M., pursuant to Section 239(2) of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c.25, as amended, as the subject matter being considered is: (d) labour relations or employee negotiations (being to discuss employee hiring and working relationships) (Carried)

RESOLUTION 2016-212

Moved by Councillor Brunton; Seconded by Councillor Hetherington:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Municipality of Magnetawan returns to open session at 12:10 P.M. (Carried)

Council considered the following resolution after returning to open session:

 

RESOLUTION  2016-213

Moved by Councillor Crossman; Seconded by Councillor Gray:

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Municipality of Magnetawan authorizes the Public Works Superintendent and the Clerk-Administrator to offer Steve Robinson the position of Temporary Lead Hand – Operations, Parks, with the term of employment to extend up to October 31, 2016, and at a rate of pay of $25.56. (Carried)

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Municipality of Magnetawan adjourns this meeting at 12:15 P.M. (Carried)
