Notice of a Public Meeting
Amendment to Zoning By-law 2001-26
The Municipality has received comments pertaining to the provisions relating to construction uses. The proposed amendment is intended to clarify this provision and to allow for the use of an existing dwelling on a property during the period of construction of a new dwelling on that same lot. There are also minor updates relating to the Definition Section of the Zoning By-law as well as housekeeping edits to correct any errors or omissions to the document.
The purpose of the By-law Amendment is to clarify the provisions of the Zoning By-law as they pertain to the temporary housing during construction, update the Definition Section and to correct any errors or omissions.
The effect of this By-law Amendment is to allow for two dwelling units to be located on one lot for a temporary period of construction.
Council will be holding a public meeting under Section 34 of the Planning Act to present the draft amendment and to seek public comments on:

The amendments affect all of the Municipality of Magnetawan and therefore no key map has been provided with this Notice. Hard copies of the document are available for review at the Municipal Office.
Please note that if a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to Council before the proposed By-law is approved, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of Council to the Ontario Municipal Board.
Also note that if a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to Council before the proposed By-law is approved, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
