Waste Reduction Week
Waste Reduction Week is here!
We are taking action to reduce the amount of waste going to landfills or becoming litter by bringing awareness to the impacts of waste on our environment and encouraging people to take action at home and in their community to help keep our environment clean and healthy for generations to come.
From Monday, October 19th to Sunday, October 25th, 2020 citizens of Magnetawan are encouraged to organize by household, in accordance with current COVID-19 public health guidelines, to safely pick up litter in their communities.
During this week, we encourage you to get outside and pick up litter in your community. Remember to:
- keep cleanups small, safe and with members of your own household
- practice physical distancing by staying at least two meters apart from anyone you don’t live with
- protect yourself by using personal protective equipment like gloves when picking up items
To learn how to participate, please view the Litter Cleanup Guide
While participating, please use the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks litter cleanup reporting form to let them know what kinds of items you collected during your cleanup.
