What is a Rock Snake?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, rock snakes became a symbol of community spirit and creativity. Here's what makes them special:

  • Popular Community Project: A rock snake is made up of painted rocks laid end to end.
  • Record-Breaking Art: The longest rock snake on record stretches over 24,459 rocks and is located in Grapevine, Texas.
  • A Symbol of Creativity: Each rock in the snake is a canvas that showcases individual flair and local spirit.
  • Fact: Rock snakes are known to bring smiles and joy to everyone who participates!

How You Can Participate:

Simply show up at the Community Rock Snake Painting Table at the Heritage Museum Centre. Paint your rock and add it to our growing rock snake. Let’s see how long we can make it together!
